ABOUT US
We are two friends with a mutual interest in ponies and horses.  We have both served our apprenticeship having been involved with both since childhood.  We actually met some considerable time ago, well before our children were born, when we were both show jumping.  My son David has successfully competed B.S.J.A. show jumping on both ponies and horses.  Being an active member of the Llangeinor Hunt Branch of the Pony Club he was in their very successful Prince Philip Cup Mounted Games Team which qualified for The Horse Of The Year Show in 1994 and he was also a member of their Show Jumping Team which qualified for Hickstead in the same year. Elaine's children, Kelly and Nick, have competed successfully in numerous equine disciplines but primarily showing at county level on their home produced Section A pony "Hollybush Marigold" in-hand, lead rein and ridden. They qualified for the prestigious Lobster Pot Lead Rein Championships at Ponies U.K. Peterborough and finished a commendable 5th from an entry of 50 ponies.

In 2003 we bought our first Miniature Shetland Pony "Kerswell Marsala" and at our first show, the South & West Wales Shetland Group Spring Show 2003 we won Reserve Supreme Champion. At that show Anwen Francis of the Serenteifi Shetland Stud gave us the names of Mr. Bernard and Mrs. Rosemary Rees of the Hasguard Stud in Haverfordwest.  Following a phone call and subsequent visit to their home things progressed from there.  We pride ourselves on being Hobby Breeders and Amateur Home Producers of Top Quality Miniature Shetland Ponies.  Our main aim is to selectively breed and produce sound, quality ponies of good temperament.  All our ponies are predominantly based on Hasguard, New Park and Kerswell blood lines and between them they have won 59 championships up to August 2009.  We are deeply indebted to Bernard and Rosemary Rees, our mentors, for their friendship, advice, guidance and first and foremost for letting us have such fabulous ponies.  We do occasionally have foals/yearlings for sale for show or pet.

HASGUARD FLORA

Black Filly

Sire:- New Park Berber
Dam:- Unity of Hasguard

Flora was bought as a yearling from the Hasguard Stud.
She has always displayed STAR quality.
She is a natural show off and likes to be the centre of attention.
Her show record confirms her quality and likeness to the breed standard.
She gained 21 championships (which included Junior, Young Stock, Mini and Supreme)
before she was retired from the show ring to became a foundation mare for the Shalaine Stud

Flora gave birth to her first foal on Monday 25th May 2009, a filly, sired by Mardlebrook Harris.

She had her first foal in 2006, a colt by New Park Berber - Shalaine Smart Alex

EDERN BRIALLEN

Chestnut Mare
27th April 1998
Sire:- Adonis of Catchpool
Dam:- Lona of Catchpool

We bought Briar at a Shetland Sale in Builth Wells. She was sold as having been running
with a coloured stallion but regrettably she did not produce a foal for us.
Nevertheless, she is extremely well put together and has repaid our confidence in her
by producing two lovely filly foals.
Briar is a wonderful mother, taking care of everyone else's foal as well as her own!

Briar had her first foal for us on the 6th May 2007 by New Park Berber - Shalaine Sweetbriar.
A filly foal was born Tuesday 26th May 2009 sired by our own stallion Hasguard Galaxy.

Both mother and daughter are now living in a 5* home locally.  Briar was running with our own Hasguard Galaxy wo hopefully the new owners
will have a foal April/May 2011
